Jedlicka’s to Close Santa Barbara Location

By edhat staff

Another local business closes up shop as Jedlicka’s Saddlery announced it will close its 2605 De La Vina Street location next month.

A mainstay for Western apparel and accessories, Jedlicka’s has been the go-to place for local ranchers and enthusiasts.

George “Jed” Jedlicka began with bootmaking and shoe repair in 1932 which gave the boots with the Jedlicka name a standard of quality. Over time their sales included work clothing, Stetson hats, sterling silver jewelry, and everything you would need for your horse.

Their second location at 2883 Grand Ave in Los Olivos will remain open.

  1. The owner said on KEYT that people will come in and try on clothes for their fit and then order them online right in front of him to save a few pennies. If this is how people are acting, say goodbye to all small local businesses. We won’t know what we’ve lost until it is all gone.

  2. As far as “cowpokes” riding scooters now, for many years there has been way more women horse owners than men. However, with all the development there is much less room for horses, hence, less need for a saddle store. Very sad to see Jeds go, a big part of SB history.

  3. I absolutely believe it. I was also talking to one of the long term employees and he said they would also get a lot of people who would buy something online that they carried and then try to return it to the store. Like COME ON people
