Beginning next Monday morning, January 29, regular hours will resume at the post office inside the Read ‘n Post store in the Vons Shopping Center at the corner of Hot Springs Road and Coast Village Road.  Those hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.Monday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

“For the remainder of the current week, both our post office and store will continue to observe limited hours,” said Jan Hendrickson, owner of Read ‘n Post.  Limited hours this week are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.  Both the post office and store will be closed on Sunday, January 28.

Hendrickson added: “Our post office has stamps for sale, including Forever stamps, and people are able to mail regular envelopes, large envelopes and most parcels of various sizes.”

“We also have free copies of a chart showing the new 2018 postage rates,” Hendrickson said.  The cost of Forever stamps rose to 50-cents each on January 21. There were also modest increases in the cost of mailing parcels and other services.

Read ‘n Post is located at 1026-B Coast Village Road, a few steps from the Vons grocery store.  “We are continuing our half-price sale on all Christmas and Hanukkah items,” Hendrickson said.  Regular store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Many Montecito residents have not been receiving regular mail delivery service, due to mandatory evacuation restrictions.  Those people may pick up their mail at the post office at 107 Nopalitos Way in Santa Barbara, one block off Milpas Street on the south side of highway 101.   As mandatory restrictions are lifted in parts of Montecito, carrier delivery mail service will resume soon thereafter, according to postal authorities.  The post office in the Upper Village of Montecito is in a mandatory evacuation area and will remain closed until that area is re-opened to public access.
