The flash flood warning issued for Thomas Fire burn areas is NO LONGER IN EFFECT.  There is no need to continue sheltering in place.  Do not drive through standing water, and stay aware of your surroundings.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Montecito and Carpinteria. This means that flash flooding is occurring or imminent. Avoid low-lying areas, areas with standing water, and areas near creeks or streams. If you are in the debris flow risk area, go to high ground or shelter in place.  Help keep the emergency lines open. Do not call 911 unless you are having an emergency. 

ADVERTENCIA DE INUNDACIÓN REPENTINA: Se ha emitido una advertencia de inundación repentina para Montecito Y Carpinteria.  Esto significa que las inundaciones repentinas están ocurriendo o son inminente. Evite las áreas bajas, las áreas con agua estancada y las áreas cercanas a arroyos o corrientes. Si se encuentra en una de estas áreas, diríjase a terrenos elevados o refugiarse en el lugar donde se encuentra.  Ayude a mantener abiertas las líneas de emergencia. No llame al 911 a menos que tenga una emergencia. Gracias por su cooperación.

Flash Flood Warning

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Northwestern Santa Barbara County, Santa Maria area. This means that flash flooding is occurring or imminent. A Flash flood is a sudden, violent, and fast-moving wall of water that can occur suddenly. Flash floods are extremely dangerous. Avoid low-lying areas, areas with standing water, and areas near creeks or streams. If you are in one of these areas, go to high ground or shelter in place. More information will be provided as soon as it’s available. Help keep the emergency lines open. Do not call 911 unless you are having an emergency. Thank you for your cooperation

Santa Barbara County and the National Weather Service (NWS) are monitoring a storm forecast to arrive tonight, January 16. This storm is forecast to have total rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with rainfall intensities below debris flow thresholds for SB County burn areas. The highest rain intensities will occur between 1 AM and 11 AM Thursday January 17. No evacuations are ordered. Residents should stay alert to changing conditions. NWS and OEM will continue to monitor the weather and will advise the public if the situation changes.

El Condado de Santa Bárbara y el Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (NWS por sus siglas en inglés) están monitoreando un pronóstico de tormenta que llegará esta noche, 16 de enero. Se pronostica que esta tormenta tendrá una cantidad total de lluvia de 2 a 4 pulgadas, con intensidades de lluvia por debajo de los umbrales de flujo de escombros para las áreas quemadas en el Condado de SB. Las intensidades de lluvia más altas ocurrirán entre la 1 de la mañana y las 11 de la mañana del jueves 17 de enero. No se ordenan evacuaciones. Los residentes deben estar alertas a los cambios de clima. El NWS y las autoridades oficiales continuarán monitoreando el clima e informarán al público si la situación cambia.
