Firefighters Knock Down Deck Fire

Santa Barbara County firefighters knocked down a fire on a wooden deck behind a home on Cieneguitas Road Thursday afternoon.

At 2:19 p.m., fire crews responded to the scene and found heavy smoke coming from the exterior of a single-family, single-story, wood-framed home. The attached wooden deck was fully involved in flames and fire crews were able to knock it down within ten minutes.

There was no one home at the time of the incident and fire crews did not find any extension into the home. While there was smoke damage inside, the fire damage only affected the exterior part of the eaves and deck. 

There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
