Construction on Mission Canyon

Source: Southern California Edison

Construction activities on the Mission Canyon Road Repair Project are slated to begin the week of September 21 and continue through the fall. SCE anticipates completion of work by the end of fall 2020.

Trail closures are necessary in the immediate area beginning September 21 through the end of fall due to the nature of the work, including the use of heavy equipment, and the need to complete the work ahead of seasonal rains.

We recognize the importance of the trails for residents and visitors and understand the inconvenience that these closures may cause. Safety is our top priority. These temporary closures will allow for this work to be completed safely and efficiently so that the area can be reopened to hikers and visitors in a timely manner. We thank the public for their patience for this needed repair work.

A continuous closure is planned for the affected trail areas from September 21 – October 30, with active construction activities taking place Monday – Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting October 31, the trail will be open for recreational access most weekends and holidays (open from Saturday morning to Sunday evening). Construction activities will continue Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional information related to progress on the project, timelines and closures can be found at www.sce.com/MissionCanyon and on the Mission Canyon SCE information line at (805) 244-0095.
