Chimney Fire in Montecito Home

Update by Montecito Fire Protection District

The Montecito Fire Protection District responded to a reported structure fire at 789 Park Lane at 11:41 p.m. The call was made by the alarm company.  

Upon arrival, Montecito Fire personnel found a working fire in a two-story, single family residential structure.  The fire appeared to be a chimney fire that extended into the walls, the second floor, and the attic.  The residents were home at the time, and exited the home safely. 

There were over 30 firefighters from Montecito Fire Protection District, Santa Barbara City Fire Department, and Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District fighting the blaze, which was controlled at 1:00 a.m. 

There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
