  1. Chalk up another fire to the homeless. Once the rains start only a fool will go out surfing for a while. But a lot of surfers don’t care, yeah I know. Ok, only “the carefree” will go surf. Straight E. Coli. Loads of it flowing unseen into our ocean. It’ll hit Hope Ranch first, and then settle in at Hendry’s big time, where it’ll mix with that watershed’s perpetual nastiness of the same cause. Maybe someone, like Channel Keeper or the like, should sue the City and/or County for allowing people to use our environment as a toilet, and a trash bin. It’s all going into the ocean.

  2. The cause of the homeless issue in California is Ronny-raygun’s evicting the patients in the state’s mental hospitals. Yet another ill conceived GOP social policy.
Perhaps Trump will put them up at one of his empty resort hotels. 🙁

  3. City did offer free motel rooms for the beach “campers” and most refused. Those that accepted free housing were quickly back at the beach camping illegally. (Read SB Independent) Stop with the Reagan and GOP bashing because that has been so debunked so many times here it is intentionally trolling to even post this again. It is not the GOP who allowed this to grow out of control; just the opposite. There is plenty of low-cost housing not only in this state but the rest of the Nation, Declining the offers of free motel rooms in this city tells you all you need to know about the vagrant population here. ACLU has been satisfied – alternate shelter was offered and refused. One can bring in the bulldozers and clean up crews now and get rid of this chronic health and safety hazard as well as misuse of tax dollars over-spending on this one population group, to the material detriment of everyone else. .

  4. I am not sure where you got the information that the city was offering rooms to the homeless. The information is misleading and/or incorrect, at best. The city/county was offering rooms to some of the homeless who were infected with Covid-19, so that they could self-isolate.
There are many homeless who have gone uncounted and are simply trying to survive. They’re numbers are only going to increase, when the moratorium on evictions is lifted. There is a fine line between living pay check to pay check and being homeless.
