A New Year's Wish

This letter was sent to my Mother and Father in 1939 and I read it each year for inspiration.

"New Years is something very special. It is like being handed a brand new volume with three-hundred and sixty five clean pages, with the responsibility of filling the book left to each individual. I wanted to send you both the wish that each day you  form a pattern of charm and beauty, so that at the end of the year there will be no ugly pages that you would like to destroy, but that you can look back on 1940 and say, it was a wonderful year.

E. Carrol Shultz
1939

This is my wish for 2021. Happy New Year.

Thank you for sharing this... A lovely perspective, and it is my wish that we can all enter this new year with the same sentiment. Happy New Year to you!

We should all look at our lives that way. Excellent!

That's excellent! So well written, too! As a society we have lost the art of the written word for communication. People are hardly sending Christmas cards anymore. I am not going to be lazy! This letter reminds me to reach out to my loved ones in a card and say how much they mean to me.
