Santa Barbara voters approved of the Santa Barbara Essential Services measure (Measure I) increasing the sales tax rate from 8.75% to 9.25%.
The new tax rate takes effect on April 1, 2025. Local business should have received information from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration regarding implementing the new rate.
