Nearly 12 Acre Brush Fire Halted in Casmalia

Santa Barbara County Firefighters stopped the forward progress of a brush fire in Casmalia on Sunday.

At 10:54 a.m. crews arrived in the 3300 block of Ntu Road, west of Orcutt. They found a small brush fire spreading at a moderate rate of speed in grass and oak trees.

At 12:44 p.m. firefighters stopped the forward progress of the fire at five to six acres.

Later on Sunday evening the County Fire Department updated the total acreage to 11.77 acres.

County, State, and Federal resources were on the scene to assist.

The cause is under investigation.
