Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 at Carrillo

Traffic was slowed on Highway 101 southbound Tuesday morning due to a mutli-vehicle collision.

Around 5:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported two vehicles crashed near the center divider blocking the fast lane and leaving debris in the roadway.

A reporting party stated one vehicle crashed into the center divider with a vehicle following behind colliding with the first one and several more to follow potentially including five vehicles total.

CHP arrived on the scene and confirmed four vehicles were involved with one minor injury and the roadway blocked.

Traffic was diverted to the Carrillo Street offramp until about 8:00 a.m. when the roadway was cleared.

The official cause is under investigation.
