Mulch Fire in Goleta

Santa Barbara County Firefighters tackled a mulch fire above Goleta early Monday morning, reports KEYT. 

Fire crews responded to Las Varas Canyon Road around 5:40 a.m. for a reported brush fire call. They discovered a 30 x 40 foot mulch pile had caught fire.

Crews on scene spread the much and stated it did not pose a threat to surrounding areas. 

Local fire departments have ramped up their resources this past weekend due to increased temperatures and high wind warnings.
