The Santa Barbara County Public Works Department closed roadways in the Summerland area due to a reported mudslide on Friday, December 26, 2025.
The Department took to social media stating, “ROAD CLOSURE: Greenwell from Asegra to Ortega Hill due to mudslide.”
County maps show that Greenwell Ave is closed from Ortega Ridge Road to Asegra Road.
Additionally, Wallace Ave from Evans Avenue to the Southbound Onramp is closed for potential flooding. Via Real from Greenwell to Padaro is one-way eastbound traffic only, westbound is closed for construction.
Additional information on the mudslide has yet to be released.
