A majority of Santa Barbara MTD Bus Operators and Operations Supervisors employees represented by Teamsters Local 186 (Teamsters) bargaining units have voted to support a tentative agreement on a new three-year collective bargaining agreement.
The three-year agreement includes increased wages and benefits, providing for a cumulative 11.25% wage increase over 36 months.
An agreement with the unit representing maintenance personnel was ratified earlier in August.
The Santa Barbara MTD Board of Directors [Tuesday] voted unanimously to approve a new three-year collective bargaining agreements for Bus Operators and Operations Supervisors represented by Teamsters Local 186.
“I’m happy to announce that we’ve reached a fair agreement with the employees who provide a vital public service to our community,” said MTD General Manager Jerry Estrada. “We believe this contract shows appreciation for their hard work, while being fiscally responsible with District finances.”
