Please post this for parents of young kids and pet owners. A mountain lion was seen in the Arroyo Burrow Creek near the Douglas Preserve.

A friend spoke to the park ranger who confirmed it. The adult male lion was last seen under the bridge towards the Oak Grove Trail. Everyone be aware!

Wow! That’s unusually close to so many people! I used to live around there. I wonder if after all the rain it might return to the mountains or if it decides to hang out here for easy pickings.

Hmmm, I hope this is BS for the cat's sake. Such a long way from the forest. It might have come down the Barger Cyn or San Roque Creek drainage, then under 101 and into Arroyo Burro Creek - otherwise came down some other drainage and has been hanging out in that open space area for a while. Quite a feat to make it there if indeed true.

Mountain lions aren’t especially dangerous to people SZQ. Hopefully you’re not implying that. These top predators have a significant role in their ecosystems. Losing sheep to them where you’re living shouldn't be surprising. You’re in the wilderness, which is great, but it comes at a cost if you want to have a flock.

Yes, Basic. Just like bull sharks, rattlesnakes, enraged hippos, box jelly fish, etc, you're right..... mountain lions are perfectly safe around people. Especially young children. Anyone who takes precautions around them would just be silly and paranoid.
