Motorist Flown to Hospital Following Collision

A motorist was helicoptered to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after being ejected from a vehicle collision early Saturday morning.

At 12:03 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 southbound near Alisos Canyon with a ground ambulance and Calstar helicopter.

There were two patients, one with minor injuries that did not require treatment on the scene and another patient who was ejected from the vehicle who sustained critical injuries and was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital via Calstar helicopter.

The collision is under investigation by California Highway Patrol.
