Santa Maria Police Department investigating fatal traffic collision
On 10/24/24 at approximately 1633 hours, SMPD Officers responded to a traffic collision at 2673 S. College.
Officers discovered a motorcyclist had been driving northbound on College at Bradley when the driver of another vehicle failed to yield the right of way while trying to make a left turn.
The motorcyclist collided into the driver’s side of the vehicle which resulted in major injuries. The motorcyclist was taken to MRMC however he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced as deceased.
The decedent in this traffic collision has been identified as Mason Rohwedder, 18 years, of Santa Maria.
The Traffic Bureau is conducting this investigation and is requesting anyone with information contact Officer Jensen at 805-928-3781, extension 1233.
