The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported a motorcycle accident on Highway 101 in Buellton on Saturday evening.
According to reports, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the incident which occurred just after 3:30 p.m. in the northbound lane of Highway 101 near Santa Rosa Road.
Upon arrival, the motorcyclist, aged 55, was discovered in the left-hand lane and was found to have sustained moderate injuries. Subsequently, the individual was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital via Copter 4 for medical treatment.
In response to the accident, the CHP initiated a temporary shutdown of the Highway 101 lanes near the location of the incident, later reopening them to traffic as necessary. As the situation unfolds, an investigation into the circumstances of the crash is currently underway.
