By an edhat reader

Around 2:30 am, on Friday, September 11, a motorcyclist collided with a large bear on Highway 154 near Paradise Road . County Fire, AMR and Sheriffs responded, and once on-scene discovered the bear, dead in the road, with a crashed black and gold motorcycle down some distance west of the bear. Responders were unable to locate the driver in the area. It was surmised the motorcycle was headed west on 154, toward Sant Ynez.

Over an hour after the crash, the driver was located at Cottage Hospital.
