At approximately 7:04 a.m. on October 3, 2025, the Santa Maria Police Department and medical personnel responded to an injury traffic collision at the intersection of Miller Street and Dena Way involving a vehicle and two pedestrians.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and located an adult female and her 6-year-old daughter who had been struck while walking in an unmarked crosswalk. Aid was rendered immediately. The 6-year-old sustained major injuries; however, she is currently listed in stable condition. The mother also sustained major injuries, and her condition is still unknown at this time.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative with law enforcement. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in this collision.
The Santa Maria Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Officer Robles at (805) 928-3781, ext. 2315.
