Montecito Library Extended Closure

Update by the City of Santa Barbara

Due to continued storm activity, the Montecito Library will continue to be closed on Thursday, March 22, 2018. During the closure, patrons who have items on hold waiting to be picked up at the Montecito Library or items en route to the location will have their holds extended until the Library is reopened.

Due to the issuance of a Mandatory Evacuation Order, the Montecito branch of the Santa Barbara Public Library System will be closed as of noon [Tuesday], March 20. 

The Montecito branch will be open from 9:00 a.m. (an hour early) until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20 to enable patrons time to come in and pick-up items on hold, check-out items, and return items. During the closure, patrons who have items on hold waiting to be picked up at the Montecito Library or items en route to the location will have their holds extended until the Library is reopened. The closure of the Montecito Library will be from Tuesday, March 20 at noon through the end of day on Wednesday, March 21.

The Mandatory Evacuation order was issued for individuals near the Thomas, Sherpa and Whittier fire burn areas throughout Santa Barbara south coast (in Goleta, Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria) due to an approaching winter storm. Individuals must be out of the evacuation area by 12 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 20.
