I’m not real familiar with Mono. Does it usually look about like that this time of year? I’ve mostly seen up-close pictures of its interesting tufa formations.
Nice photo, presumably over Nevada about to enter California from the Hawthorne area? Not a perspective often seen as most are views are looking Northeast or from the town of Lee Vining. Yes, it typically looks like this this time of year, the area can be snow covered after recent storms but it does not stay too long at the lower elevations.
Nice photo. Just watched High Plains Drifter a couple nights ago, and that was filmed there. We usually do some climbing/backpacking in Tuolumne Meadows each summer, and it's always nice to see Mono Lake because we know we're nearly at our destination. It's a very nice drive through that area.
