Mission Linen Supply is helping keep those experiencing homelessness warm this winter with a donation of 100 new Dickies jackets, which Santa Barbara Rescue Mission will distribute to those in need in the local community.

Santa Barbara Rescue Mission serves those experiencing homelessness or addiction by providing immediate help — in the form of food and shelter 365 nights a year — and lasting hope through a 12-month residential recovery program for individuals desiring to break free from cycles of addiction, poverty, homelessness and crime.

The jackets Mission donated will be distributed through Santa Barbara Rescue Mission’s Christmas Giveaway for its homeless guests. Depending on pandemic-related safety measures, guests will either be able to select the jackets themselves at a special “shopping” experience or receive them as gifts handed out by Santa Barbara Rescue Mission’s staff.

“At Mission, we are dedicated to doing everything in our power to support our local community and help those in need,” said Mission President and CEO John Ross. “Santa Barbara Rescue Mission does incredible work, and it is an honor to support their efforts. We know our donation will be put to excellent use, and we hope that along with warmth, the jackets provide a sense of hope and comfort to those who receive them.”

“Many of our homeless guests not only haven’t received something new in years, but they come to us with nothing,” said Rebecca Weber, Director of Communications and Constituent Relations at Santa Barbara Rescue Mission. “We intend to give everyone who comes to the Rescue Mission a brand-new gift this Christmas. Mission Linen has made this possible with warm, durable jackets for 100 men!”

Mission has been part of the Santa Barbara community for more than 90 years, providing laundry services, linens, uniforms, restroom supplies, cleaning products, office essentials, disposable food service items and more to local businesses spanning a wide variety of industries.
