Construction activities are ongoing on the Road Repair Project and will continue through the end of fall 2020.

Trail closures are necessary in the immediate area due to the nature of the work, including the use of heavy construction equipment, as well as the need to complete the work ahead of seasonal rains. Affected trails in the immediate areas were continuously closed from September 21 – October 30, with active construction activities taking place Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting Saturday, October 31, the trails will be open for recreational access most weekends and holidays (open from sunrise on Saturday mornings to sunset on Sunday evenings).

Continuous trail closures will continue in effect Monday – Friday, as construction activities will continue until the end of Fall, with staff working onsite Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Additional information related to progress on the project, timelines and closures can be found at www.sce.com/MissionCanyon and on the Mission Canyon SCE information line at (805) 244-0095.

Mission Canyon Road Repair Work

There's a big pothole on Foothill Road just past La Combadura that needs repair work as well. It's doubled in size in less than a week.

Mission Canyon Road Repair Work

Don’t these guys ever learn? The road and creek are a mess because Edison had a contractor come through regrading the Edison easement a year ago, just before the rains. When the rains came, the soil was loose from the grading, and all washed out. Everywhere they loosened the soil, there were massive washouts, making the roads impassable. The Edison easement is for the purpose of maintaining the 66kv transmission line towers and includes sections of the Jesusita trail and dirt roads on La Cumbre Canyon Ranch. That’s why the dirt road needs repair and mission creek filled with mud. And here they are doing doing the same thing again, loosening the soil just before the rains. Who makes these idiotic decisions?
