At about 8:00 Missing Person, Richard Abruscoto, was located walking on Janss Rd. in Thousand Oaks by a patrol deputy. Mr. Abruscoto was found safe and in good health.
Multiple resources were utilized in searching for Mr. Abruscoto, inlcuding Sheriff’s Search & Rescue, Sheriff’s Aviation Unit, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Thousand Oaks Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), Volunteers in Policing (VIP), Patrol, and Traffic Bureau. VC Alert and Nixle were also used to notify area residents of the missing person.

The Ventura Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an elderly missing person at risk. Richard Abruscoto wandered from his home in the 400 block of Avenida De Las Flores in Thousand Oaks last night around 9:30 p.m. Abruscato is a white male, 76 years of age, 6’0 in height with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt and black pants.
Searching efforts are underway for Abruscato but any person seeing someone matching his description is asked to call Sheriff’s Dispatch at (805) 654-9511 or 911.
