Missing Children Found Safe

UPDATE:

SMPD patrol officers, City Rangers searched the area of 200 blk E Bunny St, including a door to door search for the juveniles. 

Detectives were called out and began conducting an investigation in the event that the juveniles were missing due to criminal activity.

At about 3:30pm the parent saw the juveniles and they ran and hid from her. The juveniles were last seen running near the intersection of McClelland St. and Orchard St. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate them. 

SMPD patrol officers located the children at 6:37 PM at a Santa Maria City park. The children were safely returned to their family.

SMPD Missing persons investigation. At 10:17 Am this morning it was reported that Veronica Rosete, 14 years of age, and her brother Ale Jesue Mendoza, 12 years of age were last seen at 5:00 Pm 5/12/18 in front of their residence in the 200 block of East Bunny. The SMPD Detective Bureau is investigating. If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of these missing children they are asked to contact the SMPD at (805) 928-3781.
