The Santa Barbara Police Department needs your help in locating an at-risk run-away female juvenile.
Leslie Gabriella Hurtado
Age: 14 years, 8 months
5’4” 115 pounds
On October 15, 2018, Hurtado went to school in the morning time and didn’t return until October 19, 2018. On the night of October 19 or early morning hours of October 20, Hurtado left and hasn’t returned home since. Hurtado may be residing within the Westside neighborhood of Santa Barbara. Anyone with information on Ms. Hurtado’s whereabouts should call Santa Barbara Police Detective Michael Epstein at 805-847-2427 or [email protected].

Or, sadly, maybe statistically boys missing aren't as frequently reported as girl's missing? Maybe an informed PD Someone could comment.

I usually wonder if there's a serious reason at home since it's usually girls, but maybe the reason for their majority is that girls are so naive and romantic when hormones hit and they guys they are attracted to are often older and know that shoving girls they're attracted to isn't all that endearing! <G> Dangerous age.

Is she at risk because of her age? Runaways are so frustrating! I raised 3 kids and 1 of them was always disappearing and making us worry and then would roll in like nothing happened. My ex was a jerk and that's why... it sure was stressful! He was always just fine but it still worried me every time. Now he's grown up and doing good, which surprises me after all the hell he put me through. Hang in there mom and dad.
