Missing At-Risk Juvenile Found Safe

Update: Detectives located Araceli Cervantes Cortez today in the 200 blk of N. McClelland. Cortez is now safely back with her parents

The Santa Maria Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an at risk missing juvenile. She is identified as Araceli Cervantes Cortez. She is 14 years old, approximately 5′-04″, 108 lbs., having black hair, and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a pink t-shirt, black yoga pants. She voluntarily left her home. She told her mother she was going to a friend’s house and left. She did not return and has a history of running away.

Family members and friends have received recent text messages from her and current information is that she is in the City of Santa Maria.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Santa Maria Police Department immediately at (805) 928-3781 xt. 2277.

I usually wonder if there’s a serious reason at home since it’s usually girls, but maybe the reason for their majority is that girls are so naive and romantic when hormones hit and they guys they are attracted to are often older and know that shoving girls they’re attracted to isn’t all that endearing! Dangerous age.
