Minor Landing Incident at Santa Barbara Airport

By edhat staff

The Santa Barbara Airport was delayed Thursday morning following a landing incident with a small aircraft.

Around 11:00 a.m., a small airplane was landing when a gust of wind caused its wing to hit the airport’s main runway.

There were no injuries to the two occupants, but the plane sustained damage and was unable to move until Federal investigators approved it.

Several flights on commercial aircraft were diverted or delayed due to the incident.

Air traffic has returned to normal as the runway has reopened.
