The brand is known for clean silhouettes, tailored construction, and premium fabrics.
Andrea Scuderi joined the company as a partner and operations executive in 2009. In 2014, private equity firm Vei Capital acquired a 51% stake in the business.
In 2016, the company launched its U.S. division with headquarters in New York.

The brand’s collections are also sold through multi-brand retailers worldwide. Its logistics headquarters is located in Viterbo, Italy.
Santa Barbara has also seen other retail openings recently, including swimwear shop Zoë Bikini, which has opened a temporary location at 27 E. Victoria Street, Suite B. The shop held its grand opening on February 5.
