Mental Health Response to Micheltorena Bridge

By an edhat reader

I haven’t seen this reported anywhere else yet but there was a mental health emergency response to the Micheltorena Bridge last night (Monday).

Around 9:45 p.m., police responded to the Westside for a report of a man standing on the bridge/highway overpass, threatening to jump to the freeway below.

Traffic was stopped by CHP for a short time under the bridge and medics were on the scene.

It’s unclear what exactly happened but the man survived. It sounded like he may have fallen off the bridge and only fell a short distance before cops were able to access him.

Anyway, wanted to report this since I haven’t seen it anywhere and hope everyone knows if they’re feeling this way to seek help, life is beautiful.
