What is that great marine traffic site (free) wherein we can track identify ships anchored in or traveling through our harbor? An Edhatter posted the site years ago. Please tell us again.

Also:  what is that largish ship out in our harbor right now? Thank you.

Marine Traffic?

Yes, it's Ranier, a 231' NOAA hydrographic survey vessel. It's been in and out several times lately as they are mapping the ocean bottom in this area. It's also one of if not the biggest ship in the last few days. It uses side scanning sonar and has 5 motor launches, which might make some think it carries passengers ( it doesn't ), that use multi beam echoing for shallow water mapping.

Thank you all who responded to my query. I will check these out. No one knows whose ship that was yesterday? Passenger ship?

there are several apps you can download for free, navionics boating app is great, easy to use and free...it will show you at any time, what boats are out there. not just here, but globally.
