Day 19 Answer
This one stumped a lot of you this round and we have to admit… we don’t really know what it is. There’s water, so it’s a fountain of sorts, but to Ed it looks more like an emoji than a sculpture. ?
Whatever it is, it’s located inside Hope Ranch in the 400 block of Las Palmas Drive.
We couldn’t find any information on this artwork but if anyone knows more about it, please let us know.

Hi – it is a watering trough / fountain which was probably built around 1904 by the Pacific Improvement Company which owned Hope Ranch at the time. Next to the fountain was a toll gate house which controlled traffic into the Ranch. There was another of these funny shaped watering troughs down at the Hope House barn – where Vieja Valley School now stands. That one of course is long gone.
Good job to all who got this one! Toughest yet this year!
Model of a termite mound? That was my first, and only, thought.
I rode in Hope Ranch & the Annex 50 years ago and don’t remember seeing this. Very interesting.
Google image searches kept hitting on “dung pile for fuel in Tibet”.
