Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that Eduardo Robles Robles, age 29, will face life in prison as a result of being found guilty, as charged, of premeditated and deliberate first-degree murder of Selina Bustos on June 15, 2012.

District Attorney Dudley stated, “Ms. Bustos’ incomprehensibly violent death was the direct result of the defendant having stabbed her 30 times, leaving her in his locked room and then fleeing to Mexico. It took almost 2 years to bring him back to Santa Barbara County but our law enforcement team, led by the Lompoc Police Department, was relentless in their pursuit of justice for Ms. Bustos and her loved ones.”

Mr. Robles will return to Court on June 6, 2018 for sentencing in Department 8.

District Attorney Dudley further commended Senior Deputy District Attorney Brandon Jebens, as well as Deputy District Attorney Anne Nudson for their leadership of the prosecution team and their unwavering commitment to the memory of Ms. Bustos.
