Man Injured and 2 Dogs Killed in Rollover Accident

A man was seriously injured and two dogs were killed in a single-vehicle rollover traffic accident in the Santa Ynez Valley on Saturday evening.

At 7:23 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a vehicle accident off Roblar Ave near Edison Ave. The vehicle appeared to have left the roadway, crashed through a fence, and rested upside down near a tree, said Public Information Officer Mike Eliason.

A male in his 20’s was the driver of the vehicle and was traveling with two dogs. No extrication was needed for the driver who suffered major injuries. He was transported to Cottage Hospital via Calstar 7 helicopter. The two dogs died at the scene.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of this incident.
