Man Dies After Car Collides with Tree

On November 9, 2017 at 0548 hours Santa Maria Police Officers responded to an injury traffic collision at Miller/Chapel. Upon their arrival, officers found that for an unknown reason one vehicle struck a tree and sustained major damage. The driver and sole occupant was transported to the Marian Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor.

On November 11, 2017, the driver died as a result of injuries sustained during the traffic collision. The driver was identified as Petito Espiritu, 67 of Santa Maria.
