Man Charged in Santa Maria Shooting

Re: People v. Josue Anguiano; Case No. 18CR10732

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced [Tuesday] that felony charges have been filed against Josue Anguiano, 25, of Santa Maria, California, in connection with a shooting that occurred on October 27, 2018, in Santa Maria.  Anguiano is charged with attempted murder, in violation of Penal Code § 664/187 and special allegations that he personally inflicted great bodily injury and used a firearm in the commission of the alleged offense.

The defendant appeared in the Dept. 9 of the Santa Maria Superior Court on October 30, 2018, where he entered a plea of not-guilty.  Further proceedings will be held on November 5, 2018, at 8:30 a.m., in Dept. 7 in front of Judge James Voysey. 

He remains in custody with bail was set at $2.5 million.
