Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that Keith Kevin Nelson, age 56, was charged in Santa Barbara Superior Court with one count of attempted murder, in violation of Penal Code section 664/187(a) and one count of assault with a deadly weapon, in violation of Penal Code section 245(a)(1), and special allegations that include personal use of a knife and infliction of great bodily injury.
The charges stem from an incident which occurred on the evening of June 7, 2018 near the Milpas Street roundabout in Santa Barbara, in which the defendant allegedly stabbed another man with a knife.
Arraignment is expected to occur on Monday, June 11, 2018 in Santa Barbara Superior Court.
