Report #: 17-16942

Narrative:

On the above date and time, the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a 911 call of a possible interrupted residential burglary that just occurred at a residence in the 500 block of
Kalorama St. The residence was left vacant after the recent Thomas Fire, and a family member went to check on the house. As the family member entered the residence, he encountered the
suspect, later identified as Andre Green, inside.

Green immediately got into a vehicle and fled the area. The family member got into his own vehicle and followed Green while speaking to the 911 dispatcher. Officers located Green’s vehicle
and initiated a traffic stop. When officers searched Green’s vehicle, stolen property from inside the residence was found in the vehicle. Officers then searched the residence and found that several rooms had been ransacked. There was also evidence that showed Green had possibly been inside the residence over a couple day period.

Green was arrested without incident and later booked into the Ventura County Jail for burglary. The Ventura Police Department would like to remind residents that due to the number of vacant
and damaged homes from the Thomas Fire, this is the time to watch out for your neighbors and their homes, and immediately report any suspicious activity that is observed to the Police
Department at 650-8010. The Ventura Police Department is continuing to have extra officers patrolling the hillside areas.
