Oct 20, 2020 07:13 AMCould we please extend the 3 lanes all the way to San Ysidro before my new dog becomes a snowface in 10 years? What is the point of giving 100 projects in California barely enough money to keep them going each year? Doesn't make me want to vote for money for Caltrans.

Oct 19, 2020 10:13 PMI witnessed the immediate aftermath! Here is my harrowing story: I was driving on the 101 northbound from Ventura and traffic suddenly became bumper-to-bumper upon entering the Carp area. I thought it must be the road-work going on around there. But somewhere around Linden i slowly started realizing... Hey, there’s like NO southbound traffic, not a single car. “Jeez,” i thought, “did they really close the ENTIRE southbound 101 for the road work?” Then a minute later, i came across it: In the southbound lanes, right after that new dog-leg after Santa Claus, a Dodge Charger facing the wrong way with its rear all crunched and its side all crumpled against the concrete divider, with a civilian next to it (obviously connected with the Dodge) talking to two CHP officers... then a little further on, a big rig with cargo trailer jack-knifed and blocking both 2 southbound lanes (it’s now just 2 lanes with no shoulders, just a narrow corridor all hemmed in). Boy howdy, what a nightmare! No place for all those freeway cars to go. Cops had started to let cars u-turn off the freeway the wrong way off the on-ramp at Santa Claus, but the frontage road was an equal nightmare so i was eternally grateful that i was going north and only had to face a ten-minute slowdown. Ok, that’s my report.

Oct 19, 2020 04:06 PMThank you, SCANNERANDREW, for picking up where Roger left off! A humble request -- would you mind changing the color of your banner? It makes it hard to read date and time. I had to highlight it so I could read it. Thanks for helping!

Oct 19, 2020 04:59 PMI hope I'm not known as the "replacement" for roger! Roger does way more than I do, he's the best for edhat! Sadly, I won't be covering as many incidents as roger, but I'll do what I can! And yes, I will change the color!

Oct 19, 2020 02:09 PMSounded like the Black Charger caused the accident, having been reported as reckless just before the crash. The Charger driver took foot-bail toward the beach, described as a blank male in white T shirt and dark pants.
