A vehicle collision occurred late Monday night on the Highway 135/Clark Ave southbound off-ramp involving a wrong-way driver. According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash took place at approximately 9:42 p.m.
The incident involved a male driver in his 40s, who was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, striking another vehicle head-on.
The driver of this vehicle required extrication from his vehicle due to the impact and sustained major injuries. He was subsequently transported to Marian Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance for treatment.
The second vehicle was driven by a male in his 20s who refused medical treatment at the scene.
The collision did not result in any road closures. All Santa Barbara County Fire resources have reported they are now available for other emergencies.
