Los Padres Forest Outbuilding Catches Fire at Santa Ynez Airport

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Santa Ynez Airport early Thursday.

At 12:38 a.m., crews arrived in the 400 block of Airport Road and discovered the large building actively on fire. Multiple engines arrived quickly on the scene to start a coordinated attack.

The structure houses flight crew equipment and trucks for the Los Padres National Forest firefighters. 

There was no one inside the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. It’s unclear if any equipment was damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
