Longtime Local Bartender Passes at 44

By edhat readers

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce our local and beloved bartender, Peter Conover, passed away unexpectedly on March 4. He was 44 years old.

Born on October 19, 1974, Peter moved to Santa Barbara from Reno in 1999. Community members will most likely remember him as the tall and talkative bartender at Dargan’s Irish Pub where he worked for 16 years. This past November he moved to a job at Arnoldi’s Cafe. He was part of the Santa Barbara hospitality industry for over 20 years.

A memorial or service is not planned at this time. Many friends and locals are sharing their photos and memories on Facebook.

For anyone who is struggling with depression or mental health, please reach out to the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.

Rest in Peace Big Pete.
