Lompoc Man Charged with Murder of Infant Daughter

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that a felony complaint has been filed against Jose Ramirez, 27, of Lompoc, California.  Mr. Ramirez is charged with murder, in violation of Penal Code section 187 in connection with the May 19, 2019 death of his infant daughter, Evelyn Ramirez.  In addition, it is also alleged that the defendant was previously convicted of a serious or violent felony, pursuant to Penal Code sections 667(d)(1) and (e)(1).

Mr. Ramirez appeared for arraignment in the Lompoc Superior Court this morning, May 29, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Raimundo Montes de Oca.   Arraignment was continued at the request of his public defenders until June 11, 2019.  Current bail is set at $4,000,000.00.
