Locals Mingle with Rescue Pups at Fundraising Event

By edhat staff

Edhat’s sponsored “Wine & Woofs” event brought the community and adoptable furry friends together at Carr Winery on Wednesday.

Santa Barbara Petsitters and local nonprofit Spark Rescue combined forces with edhat to host a fun event aimed to introduce adoptable puppies to the community, and let’s be real, get a few snuggles in.

The patio at Carr Winery was packed with canine lovers who gently pet and kissed a multitude of dogs. There were two rambunctious little white fluff balls who played non-stop. The malti-poo’s (Maltese and Poodle mix) named Jackson and Julius are available now for adoption.

In the other pen was Luna, a young spaniel mix, with four siblings from the same litter of Pitbull and Schnauzer parents. Tati, Taro, Jasmine, and Tristan were crowd-pleasers with their bright blue eyes and penchant for climbing over the puppy gate and mingling with guests. When inside their pen, these puppies were eager to receive cuddles and hand out kisses.

Tracy Mongold of Santa Barbara Pet Sitters hosted a dog trivia for guests to win prizes from edhat and Carr Winery. Do you know what type of dog Scooby Doo was? Or which breed has a black tongue? Or what was the name and breed of Dorothy’s dog in the “Wizard of Oz?” Many guests did but those who had the most dog knowledge prevailed. Congrats to our trivia winners.

If you missed this event, don’t worry. Edhat, Spark Rescue, and Santa Barbara Pet Sitters are busy planning for the next one and will announce it soon. In the meantime, visit www.sparkrescue.org to see local adoptable animals or inquire about fostering and visit www.sbpetsitters.com if you need help with your current pets.
