Several local small businesses have launched The Locals’ Collective, an event taking place at 931 State St from November 27 – January 3rd, featuring products from Anna Janelle Jewelry, (IN)LARKIN, Jilli Vanilli, La Calle Studios, Menchaca Chocolates, RoHo, featured artists Rod Lathim, Masha Keating and others.

The Locals’ Collective is proud to create this pop-up event for the first time as a [means to create a space for consumers to shop local and spread the holiday spirit during this isolating year. Design duo, former Giorgio Armani designer, Mary Beth Larkin and now founder of fashion brand (IN)LARKIN, a participant in the Locals’ Collective and builder, Nils Larsen, of Larsen Fine Homes, created a vision for the space that invites customers into a contemporary holiday experience to remember.

“It’s been a hard year for small business and we’re grateful to have the opportunity to bring people together to shop small and support local. We want to make a space that’s safe, fun and gets us away from thinking about the stresses of this year,” said Caleigh Hernandez, founder of RoHo & participant in the Locals’ Collective.

The space will be open Thursday – Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm and open every day the week of Christmas. Private appointments are also available. Women’s Economic Ventures, a local nonprofit committed to supporting small businesses in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, is also serving as a nonprofit partner for the pop-up event. In order to create added convenience for customers, vendors are offering shipping directly from the space. The Collective will also offer an art installation from local artist, LeAnne Iverson.

“Shopping small and locally is so important, this year especially. Our goal is to create a place where consumers can buy unique, handmade and intentional gifts that support our community. When you buy from a small business, you make a real difference, an actual person celebrates,” said Anna Janelle, founder of Anna Janelle Jewelry & participant in the Locals’ Collective.
