Local Pet Rescue In Need of Foster Volunteers

By Spark Rescue

We are in desperate need of foster homes for adoptable dogs or a litter of puppies and are seeking new volunteers.

We have been able to save new dogs every other week, but we can only continue to help if we have dedicated foster homes to house them.

Spark Rescue is a foster-based rescue and every person who opens up their home to a dog is a life saver!

Sadly, every year, millions of pets are killed in our nation’s shelter system. These shelters are filled with loving animals looking for a second chance. It is Spark Rescue’s mission to bring as many of these animals to safety as possible and place them in loving homes. The number of foster homes available determines the number of dogs that can be saved.

Until those pets are placed in forever homes, they need a safe place to recover from their previous life of abandonment, neglect and/or abuse and injuries. That safe haven, where a lonely, frightened dog or cat can heal their broken heart and learn to trust humans again makes all the difference in that animals life, and is critical for their preparation for adoption.

Your observations and experiences in living day-to-day with your foster pet provides us with vital information that enables us to evaluate potential adopters and choose the best fit.  And of course, you’ll be the first to hear he/she got a happy home!

Once you decide you would like to foster, together we will select a dog or cat that will fit into your home and lifestyle. We have both long-term and short-term foster opportunities available. Our rescues are usually placed in permanent homes within 1 – 4 weeks. If that time commitment seems too long, we also need substitute fosters for our regular fosters who need some time off. These commitments usually only last a couple of days. You don’t need anything but your home and a loving heart!

We also offer a Foster to Adopt Program for people who want to adopt, but would like to “sniff out”” the dog they are considering for adoption, and our Foster Program for one-time or ongoing fostering.

Please visit our website at www.sparkrescue.org and submit a foster application.
