Local Issues Research Group Text?

I received a text from an 805 number the read the following:

“Will you answer a few questions about important issues facing your community? – Local Issues Research Group-“

A link was included. I was curious if it was spam, but the link went to a local poll that asked extremely leading questions about the police department and city council. Some of the questions were nuanced and didn’t fall into a yes/no format and it clearly has an agenda.

Who sent out this text for the poll and who is paying for it? There was absolutely no information in the text or poll website other than Your-Opinion.org.
