Does anyone know if there are any paranormal societies/groups in town or nearby that do ghost hunts/tours/studies of any sort? Thanks.

How does somebody asking about paranormal groups turn into a political diatribe? Way off topic, get a grip

A-150, I have a low IQ, according to you, because you THINK I don't believe in supernatural happenings? I NEVER said that. I meant yes, people are gullible and proof is how many believe in the religious rhetoric. Pay attention

post numbers don't work anymore, that's why I and others say "poster name" NOT # and post time. I agree with you Flicka

Amazing how "gullible" people are? They are, that's why religion is so popular.

I once came home and sensed a malevolent, vaporous presence, but it was just the litter box.

I DETEST those tv commercials for kitty litter! They make it look like people do or are "supposed to" clean the box once a week! Sheesh. Once a day Minimum. I laughed at your post. Off to clean my cat's box.

Southern State Community College in Ohio? Or was that a typo? Ah, SBCC. Interesting assertions you make. I'm surprised and a little appalled. But I'm all for freedom of speech and research. FYI, paranormal activity has nothing to do with religious beliefs. I've seen things you wouldn't even believe - yes, while stone cold sober and yes, in our lovely Santa Barbara. Check out Mission Street. That area is a hotbed of paranormal activity. I live in a house there about twenty years ago, and literally had to move out because it was so terrifying. The girl whose room I took had warned me before moving in. Should have listened.

Interesting. I too lived near the corner of Mission and State. There is a mortuary on Chapala that I could see from my balcony. This place was vacant for a period of time, and during this time I often witnessed the outdoor motion sensor light rhythmically and repeatedly turning on and off several times. Then it would stop. Really unsettling.

I also am curious about what you've experienced on Mission St. I used to rent a place at the old church/green lantern building near the corner of State / Mission St. It's had its history, to say the least, and once was even converted into a mortuary and it was always creepy af. My room was literally above the room where they prepared bodies. And there was even a rumour murder that was committed on/near the premises before it was remodeled as a mortuary. But--even as predisposed as I am to believing in spirits and related entities--I never did once have a true paranormal experience.. Honestly, I wish I did as I am fascinated with the subject. I don't see how people can criticize this topic and be completely open to other religious beliefs. To me they are not very far removed at all.

Real Be Be share your story I am fascinated! I too have experienced odd things. Where on Mission Street? I live a block down and am wondering what portion of Mission?

I hope you find what you are looking for, sounds fun. One thing wrong with society today isn't not believing in something "higher" but the right wing zealots trying to make religious decisions for the rest of society. Wanting people who don't believe like you "to leave" is sad. How Christian is that?

I used to have interesting experiences walking from the breakwater to the West Beach Cliffs and back on foggy early mornings between midnight and 3am...If you walk it never go alone because now there are campers all over the place, and I would not go all the way to the cliffs...You might see something from Cat Beach out in the surf in line with the café there. It is not safe to go alone these days and be very quiet.

Hopefully not, there are way too many religious groups here already.

People like you who don't believe in anything higher than themselves are what is wrong with society nowadays. So when you say hopefully not, what I think is hopefully people like you will leave.

Since you'll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the populace, there probably are several who would take your money.

Are you always such an idiot? These groups don't take money dodo. They are groups who get together to explore paranormal events. Get a clue, get out sometime and live life.
