About the Santa Barbara Bowl
The Santa Barbara Bowl has played a vital role in the city’s cultural life for decades. Built in 1936 with federal Works Progress Administration funding, it was originally designed to host performances connected to the Old Spanish Days Fiesta.
In the 1970s, the venue gained popularity as touring artists began performing there, including Jackson Browne, Jerry Garcia, the Doobie Brothers, and James Taylor.
Today, the venue hosts concerts and events featuring both international and emerging artists.
